Instructions for students
I’d like to extend a warm welcome to you all for my courses!
I’ve put together a few tips to help you study more effectively and make progress in the self-study courses.
Logging in to the course platform
Once you’ve paid for a course, you’re logged in straight away and can start studying by clicking on the first lesson to open (unless it’s a pre-sale course, in which case you can access the content when the course opens).
Later on, you can log in to the platform by clicking on the ‘Login’ link at the top of the page. Just log in using either your email address or the username that was automatically generated when you purchased the course. You should have received an email with your username and a link to set or change your password. So, you’ll need to set your own password to log in.
You can find your own courses on the My Courses page of the course platform.
Next, I’d like to tell you a little bit about studying. I’ll give you the lowdown on the most common issues at the end of this article. Make sure you read it carefully so you can get your course videos up and running!
Studying in an online course
Lessons
The course is made up of lessons where you’ll learn through watching lecture videos. All the points I make in the lecture videos are in the text of each lesson, so you don’t have to search for a particular point in the video if you want to go back and check something.
In some lessons, you will find links to further information on the topics covered in the lesson. You don’t have to follow these links to complete the course – they are just for additional info.
At the end of each lesson, we’ll have a quick quiz to see how much you’ve learned.
Any questions about the topics covered in the lessons?
At the end of each lesson, there’s a discussion section where you can ask questions and chat about the lesson topics with other students. I’ll be there too, and I’ll answer any questions that come up in the lessons.
You can leave comments and questions in the ‘Leave a reply’ box – just ignore the box title. You can also reply to other people’s comments and questions, or post a completely new question or comment.
How to progress through the course
To get the most out of the course, it’s important to complete the lessons in order.
Enjoy the freedom to learn at your own pace. Revisit lecture videos, dive into detailed text lessons, and retake quizzes as often as you need to master the material. This flexible format fits seamlessly into your busy schedule.
Course feedback
In the last lesson, you’ll find a satisfaction survey where you can also make suggestions for improvements to the course. I really appreciate your feedback!
Course certificate
Once you’ve finished all the lessons, you’ll be able to find your course certificate on the My Courses page. You can save and share the certificate on social media or print it out if you like.
How long will I have access to the course material?
You’ll have six months (180 days) from the date of purchase.

Most common problems
Username and password
If you’ve forgotten your password, just use the ‘Forgot your password?’ function on the login page. You can also use this to change your password, even if you don’t need to reset it.
If you’re not getting your password or other system messages in your email, just check that you’ve set up your username with the right email address. It’s also worth checking your spam folder. If you see a message there, just mark it as ‘not spam’. That way, your emails will go straight to your inbox.
Can’t see the content of your online course?
If the course platform asks you to go back and complete the previous lesson, it’s probably because you haven’t marked it as done yet. To mark a lesson as complete, just click the ‘Mark complete’ button at the end of the lesson.
If that doesn’t help, make sure your browser is up to date and restart it. If that doesn’t do the trick, try the same thing on your device and make sure it’s got the latest version.
If you’re having trouble seeing your course progress or achievements, clearing your cache can often help. You can find instructions for clearing your cache by searching on Google. Different browsers have different instructions, so it’s important to make sure that the instructions you’re following apply to the browser you’re using.
